Abe Nouri
Genre-bending and digestible, Abe Nouri is a musical renaissance man who has harnessed his multicultural heritage, optimistic enthusiasm and personal charisma to his passion for artistic expression. Growing up in the Shenandoah Valley, the son of a Moroccan Berber self-made entrepreneur and Mennonite academic, Abe was raised on international friends, family, food and immersive travel. Able to carry a tune before age two and a natural performer, his teachers have been four-part hymns, jazz improvisation, old time festivals, and popular and avant-garde music of the day. This appreciation for the old and new comes together in his obsessive collection of vintage analog gear used for self-producing adventurous electronic pop. Playing and singing his way through salsa, funk, jazz, reggae and rock bands, he has landed in Brooklyn as a producer, composer, lyricist, and session instrumentalist while launching his eclectic solo project - Cheb Brahim. After finishing up runs with David Byrne and Carly Rae Jespen (2021-2023), Abe is currently focusing on finishing Cheb Brahim music as well as producing records for a multiple artists.
